Editorial guidelines for election coverage

Since October last year, the IEC, Sanef, the Press Council and other partners have conducted election workshops for journalists at venues around the country.  One of the sessions dealt in detail with the regulatory requirements for editorial coverage of the elections in print, online and broadcast media.

Here is the presentation providing an overview of coverage guidelines from the Press Council and ICASA; as well as the electoral Code of Conduct and the Guidelines for Access to Information in Africa, issued by the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights.
