TikTok launches SA Election Centre

TikTik recently launched an in-app SA 2024 election page “to ensure people can easily separate fact from fiction. Working with the Independent Electoral Commission and civil society organisations, the Election Centre will be a place where our community can find trusted and authoritative information.”

In response to a request from Sanef on information on how the platform will safeguard the integrity of the elections, TikTok also provided a statement explaining their policies on misinformation, fact-checking, deterring covert influence operations, trusted information and more.
