Voting arrangements for journalists on election assignment
On 29 May registered voters are obliged to vote at the polling station in their own voting district. But there are alternative voting options available for people like journalists working away from their home base.
The first option is a special vote. Registered voters can between 15 April and 3 May apply for a special vote, meaning that they can vote at their own voting station on the Monday or Tuesday before the elections – here is the application form.
The second option is to apply to vote at another voting station on election day, 29 May. Applications should be lodged before 17 May and should include the area where you will be on 29 May so that a nearby voting station can be identified for you to vote. If you vote in the same province where you are registered, you will be able to vote on all three ballots; but if you are outside your own province, you will only get a national ballot paper.
