Election fact-checking coalition
To help voters critically engage with information and make informed decisions in the voting booth, a coalition of media organisations, supported by the Google News Initiative and led by Africa Check, is working together to tackle election misinformation.
The group is fact-checking claims made by political parties, providing voters with reliable, non-partisan information on key issues, and equipping the public with the skills they need to identify election misinformation.
Coalition partners include:
- fact-checking organisations Africa Check and AFP Fact Check
- media outlets Daily Maverick, Mail & Guardian, Caxton Local Media, SABC News, Tuks FM 107.2, Eyewitness News, Briefly News, and City Press
- civil society organisations SECTION27 and Campaign On Digital Ethics (CODE)
